All You Need To Know About Texas’s Allergy Season

Allergies are immune responses triggered by a specific substance.  In Texas, and especially in San Antonio, spores from molds and pollens released by trees, flowers, and other plants can trigger allergic reactions.  These reactions may warrant a visit to a San Antonio allergy and asthma treatment center.

Changes in temperature, wind, or air pressure can also increase the rate of allergic reactions and lead to more visits to a San Antonio allergy and asthma clinic.

Here’s how the seasons compare:

Winter Allergies

Winter tends to be a challenging allergy season for many. Cedar trees  release their pollen in the winter, leading to “cedar fever” for many people. In addition, the allergy and asthma in San Antonio people experienced during this time were quite intense.

Spring Allergies

Many trees release pollen in the spring In San Antonio. Culprits include Oak, Elm, Ash, Cottonwood, and Pecan tree allergens. If you experience allergy symptoms in the spring, many San Antonio residents recommend an allergy and asthma clinic.

Summer Allergies

Of summer’s many gifts, grass allergies are not. Grasses like  Orchard  and Bermuda may cause seasonal allergies and require a doctor's visit for diagnosis or treatment. If you’re sneezing uncontrollably or develop unusual symptoms during the summer, it’s a good idea to check for allergies.

Fall Allergies

Fall is the worst season for allergies, and an asthma and allergy clinic may be your saving grace. Ragweed is prolific during this time and can spread its pollen like wildfire.
